Assignment for Fashion Illustration 2:
Design a line of clothing based on rock and roll.

So, here's a sort of thrown together piece of all of the pieces going into my fashion board. The top half are my illustrations from before, fully colored. I'm pretty happy with the over all look of the girls. I feel like these are what the girls wearing these clothes might look like. The girl in purple and the girl in blue are my favorites... And I love how the denim skirts came out though. I love them a lot. The rendering of those was a happy accident...

The photo in the bottom left is of my mood board. A mood board is what you put together to show your inspirations for a line of clothing. I think that mine more or less explains itself (j-rock/pop/punk and skulls...) Zugai means skulls in Japanese, and since I was inspired by Japanese street fashion and Dir en Grey, and skulls, I thought that would work well as the name of this collection.

The other part on the bottom are all of my flat sketches. I like the skirts, but I hate doing flat sketches.

So yeah. Now I have to put the flat sketches and the illustrations together on a board and they have to work well. It's tough laying the illustrations out because they're all different/odd sizes. I hope it comes out ok!

Here are links to the sketches and final presentation of this collection.

Thank you! I loved designing this collection. The flats are all hand drawn, but drafted from basic flats from a fashion illustration book called Portfolio Presentation for fashion Designers by Linda Tain, in the flats and specs chapter.

I use Tria markers for almost all of my work, but not the new ones really.

ah i see wow i envy you for that xD always when i tryed to do flats by hand, i failed totally at it xD because i draw so untidy and the lines where always well...shaky xD and such ^^; but i wish i could do flats just as good as you do <33

ah i see tria markers o-o so there are old and new ones?XD i bet the new ones are the freaking expensive ones xDD where the 72-pack costs more then 340 € Dx
but still they look really nice xD

I can do ok freehand flats. It usually involves measuring out a little rectangle and free handing around/in it. Or not at all. I think all of my flats for Project Designer were free hand. But I had to be more professional in school ^^;

Yes, those would be the ones. The quality has gone down, and though you can get refills, the inks in the markers doesn't last long. I'm happy I have quite the horde of the old ones, I should be all set for awhile.

haha i can imagine that xD i guess i will try to do flats too someday again^w^

aww damnit XD that`s bad but well i have my own markers so i don`t have to buy them at last xD but think that it`s good too that you still have those old ones xD
