Full collection: [link] Winter Regalia A collection of gowns and day dresses, coats and cloaks, baubled crowns and winter caps. Things that I imagine a Snow or Ice Queen wearing. Regalia was a perfect description of this collection since it means, "The emblems and symbols of royalty, such as the crown and scepter" and, "Magnificent attire; finery." The look of each queen is supposed to be magnificent. I imagine d them having very wild, sculptural hair that is strewn with baubles and adorned with crowns and winter hats. The make-up is fantastical, giving the queens a bruised or frost bitten look. Fabrics include, Silk Cashmere, faux fur, velvet, suede, Filament silk, Dupioni Silk, Silk Charmeuse, Organza and Gabardine Wool. I choose natural fabrics because of their warmth and function in cold weather. For example, filament silk is really warm because it insulates the body and is water repellent. Garment details: A full, princess seamed, hooded coat with large bell sleeves that have a small puff at the shoulder. The hood, cuffs and trim that goes all the way down center front and all around the bottom of the coat are made from faux fur. The body of the coat is gabardine wool there is blue suede piping in the princess seams. the whole coat is lined in a lightweight silk satin. |
