Um, I wouldn't download it because it gigantic, but the full view is worth it!
I have no photoshop/no way to edit my files right now, I can only scan, so I'll fix it when I have photoshop again.
I drew this from a photo of Kate Blanchett as Queen Elizabeth (it's in August's Vogue) while listening to Dir en Grey's Kodou album. I didn't really know what was going to come of it, and then I ended up drawing something so ridiculously detailed and ornate which hardly ever happens to this extent. I love the hand. I've gotten really good at hands lately....
I drew her and colored her in a couple of days. The pink and black color scheme sort of happened on it's own. The background was done while waiting for the plane back home/on the plane. I made a grid, drew one pattern, traced it onto tracing paper, went over it a few times and mapped out the pattern on the grid buy rubbing the pencil onto it. It took a few hours. Then I sketched over it, then I inked over it, erased the pencil and colored it today. I love it. I've never done a pattern like this before, I'm so happy with the results!
I love this. The colors are awesome and the drawing itself is just gorgeous.
